Birth & Death Certificates

We processed 9,611 birth and death certificates. Records are filed according to the state where the event occurred. If your event occurred in Utah, you may apply for a certified copy through any Utah Public Health Department.

Immunizations

Our clinics administered 11,072 immunizations. We focus on vaccine-preventable diseases for children and adults. Vaccines help the body’s immune system learn to fight germs. Protection typically develops within a few weeks and can last a lifetime. Some vaccines, such as tetanus or seasonal flu, require occasional boosters to maintain protection.

International Travel Appointments

During the year, 1,076 international travel appointments were provided. Staff administers travel vaccines and offers expert pre-travel counseling. Vaccines help reduce concerns about needing health care while abroad. Out of 30 million Americans who travel each year internationally, about 8 million visit countries where tropical and infectious diseases are common. Almost 2 million U.S. travelers are exposed to malaria each year, which can be life-threatening.

Screening & Labs

A total of 1,764 screenings and lab tests were performed. Screenings help detect problems early when they are easier to treat. Getting recommended screenings is one of the most important steps you can take for your health. At the Public Health Department, low-cost screening and lab services are available to help keep the community healthy.
