CAR SEATS

Whether you’re bringing home a new baby, driving to school, or heading out on everyday trips, keeping your child safely secured in the right car seat or booster is essential—nearly 60% of car seats are installed incorrectly, reducing how well they protect a child. The best protection comes from a seat that fits your child and vehicle, is installed correctly, and is not used past its expiration date. Our Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians provide free car seat safety checks for Southwest Utah residents and help ensure your car seat is installed and used correctly. A car seat program is also available for families who meet eligibility guidelines.

What to Expect at Appointment

During your appointment, a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician will:

  • Review your child’s age, height, and weight for proper seat selection
  • Identify the safest seating position in your vehicle
  • Demonstrate correct installation and use
  • Check the car seat for recalls, damage, and expiration

Your child will need to be present at the appointment (exception: pregnant/unborn). Appointments typically take 30–45 minutes and include time for one-on-one questions to help ensure your car seat is installed correctly.
